Tips

If you arrive late in the night and you want to save money for taxi, you can book 1 night in a hotel (that has an option of free transfer) next to the airport. So you’ll be delivered for free to and from the hotel, but the next day you’ll be able to use public transportation from the airport.

30 min. of free Wi-Fi connection are available in the airport. (I had no possibility to check it).

Some facts and history about the airport

Airport of Casablanca is the largest airport of Morocco. It was built in 1943 by the US army. After the end of the World War II the airport was closed. In 1950s it was reopened to host US military forces that were afraid of the USSR. After the independence Moroccan government and Mohammed V asked US forces to leave the airport. But the old name of military base – “Nouaceur” – is still in use by locals. Also this is the name for the airport neighborhood.
