Ifrane

Ifrane is a town situated in mountains at an altitude of 1713 m. Famous for ski resort Michlifen and for being Al Akhawayn university campus. The main attraction of Ifrane is the unusual for Morocco architecture. The town was built in the years of French protectorate, so it’s easy to guess that architects have decided to make an experiment and to choose a typical European look for a small Moroccan town. All of Ifran’s buildings are pretty low-rise houses with tiled rooftops.

The town is surrounded by the national park Ifrane.

The most convenient way to visit Ifrane is to do it on the way from Fez to Merzouga.
